A man in England has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail for "web rage," Reuters reports.
Paul Gibbons, age 47, admitted to attacking 43-year-old John Jones after the two men, neither of whom have lives, spent several months exchanging insults online. At one point, Jones threatened to track Gibbons down and beat him up. Gibbons, at that point, did what all of us would do if some pathetic loser was threatening us online. He called... the police? No. He called a friend. Then, he and his friend went over Jones's house with a machete and a pickaxe and respectfully requested that Jones stop picking on Gibbons.
At some point, Jones apparently brandished a knife of his own, which Gibbons somehow wrestled away from Jones and then managed to scratch Jones on the neck with it.
What is so very wrong about this is that Gibbons is 47, whereas Jones is only 43. One would think the older of the two boys would set a better example for his little online friend.
