Amazon has just listed my book in their "New and Notable" travel book recommendations. My sales rank has skyrocketed from something around 1.5 million three days ago to a high yesterday of 14,763.
Meanwhile, it's received some rather hilarious comments on Amazon reviews. A reviewer calling himself "coachwriter" wrote, "Fox is a freelance writer and works for the Rick Steves travel organization. After zipping through his book, I might be more inclined to read more of his stories than to sign on his next trip!"
Another reviewer, Schuyler Wallace in Bakersfield, California, has written, "He's daring, foolhardy, and funny. I enjoyed his book but came away with a nagging question; how can anybody get so fouled up mentally and physically and go back for more? Play on, Dave."
Ahem... travel is not what fouled me up emotionally or physically, Schuyler. I was born this way.
If you've read my book and enjoyed it, I will add you to my list of best friends if you write a review on Amazon. If you haven't read it and would like to, you can order it from Amazon, or for a limited time, purchase a discounted autographed copy on my website (where free sample chapters are also available).
Not for long, not for long... I tried the "new and notable link", and yes, I did see your book.
Then I pressed the refresh-button for some reason, and wow; gone!
Internet is very much like love I think, only each experience lasts longer....

Yeah Brrre...
The way it works is there is space for six books on the page in that catagory, and they have eight or nine books that they are rotating right now. So sometimes when you click onthe page, my book is there. Sometimes it's not.

Way to complicated... If so you should do the same thing to the link on your blog. On and off and on and... Because else you're giving me false information sometimes. And sometimes you don't.
