Dear People With Video Cameras,
No, I don't mean you lower-case people-with-video-cameras who take the occasional panoramic shot. I mean "People-With-Video-Cameras" with a capital PWVC… as opposed to… "People." You know – the ones who plow through crowds, completely oblivious to everyone and everything around them, because they are shooting extremely important video footage, which they will attempt to make their friends endure when the PWVCs return home, even though their friends would rather be sitting in a North Korean prison, having their eyes gouged out by gnomes with giant ice picks. The PWVCs video tape as they walk, parting the Great Sea of Pedestrians because they believe they, the PWVCs, are so important that the pedestrians are willingly getting out of the PWVCs' way. (In reality, people are getting out of their way because we really do not want to be in their videos.)
Yes, I am talking to you, PWVCs: Here is an extremely helpful travel tip for you: When walking down the street in a fascinating foreign city, try lowering the video camera from your eye momentarily. You may discover that something fascinating occurs. Suddenly, like magic, you just might find yourself actually walking down the actual street that you were just video taping!
It's not reality television. It's real reality.
Cool, huh?
Love,
Dave
P.S. Please stop bumping into me.
